As Europe's first ever Major League Baseball game was given the royal stamp of approval, family history may have also been made as Meghan met award-winning outfielder Betts at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park tonight. Meghan and Betts reportedly share ancestry dating back 150 years to America's Deep South, according to a U.S.
Genealogist, who says both their origins can be traced back to Alabama relatives. The royal couple are attending to promote Prince Harry's Invictus Games Foundation which has been partnered with the MLB's two-game London Series. Betts told the Boston Globe last year: 'I saw on television that they were getting married. But I had no idea we were related.
That's not something you expect to hear, but it’s interesting.' An 1870 Federal Consensus reportedly shows that Joseph Betts is Mookie's great-great grandfather and Jacob Betts - who lived two doors down from Joseph - is the great-great-great grandfather of Meghan. Genealogist Jim McNiff, who uncovered the link, believes the chances of coincidence are minimal due to the scarcity of Betts' in Madison County and the proximity of the neighbours. Meghan and Betts were seen hugging this evening in the Red Sox locker room, as Prince Harry and the players clapped and laughed.
Meghan beamed as each team gave her a baby-sized jersey, with the New York Yankees shirt emblazoned with Archie's name and the number 19 on the back for the year of his birth. Donald Trump hit back at former President Jimmy Carter's suggestion that he's an 'illegitimate president' calling Carter the 'forgotten' president who was 'terrible' for the country. Trump responded to the remarks during a news conference Saturday following the G-20 summit in Japan. He called Carter 'a nice man before going on to say he was a 'terrible president,' and noted he's 'loyal to the Democrats' and that interference in the election is 'a typical talking point.' 'As everybody now understands I won not because of Russia, not because of anybody but myself,' Trump added. The president went on to say he was 'surprised' by Carter's comments.

'He's been trashed within his own party, he's been badly trashed,' Trump said before remarking he 'felt bad for him.' A 9/11 responder who earlier this month received a standing ovation when he pleaded with Congress to replenish the September 11th victims fund, has died following a three-year battle with cancer, his family revealed on Saturday. Retired NYPD detective, Luis Alvarez, 53, gave his final interview on June 20 shortly after revealing his advanced-stage colorectal cancer diagnosis had caused his liver to fail, leaving him days away from death. Alvarez was diagnosed with the condition in 2016, with doctors linking the disease to the three months he spent at Ground Zero, searching for survivors and remains among the rubble. Alvarez is pictured bottom left before he was diagnosed and bottom right searching bodies at Ground Zero in the days after the attack.
The fashion designer (inset) put up the 230ft-long barrier in front of her home to stop erosion, amid fears it could eventually fall into the sea. However, the line of sandbags runs across a road leading to the beach that should be open to those living on the private avenue. Stella, 47, and husband Alasdhair Willis, creative director at boot brand Hunter, bought their three-bedroom oceanfront home and adjoining land three years ago. After erosion claimed 40ft of shoreline in a year, they joined forces with a neighbour to build the wall to save both properties. It went up last July but the permit for it with Town of East Hampton council expired in April this year. Ayoola 'AJ' Ajayi, the man police believe murdered Mackenzie Lueck and then burned her body in a backyard, wrote a murder novel last year in which two of the characters suffer an eerily similar fate to the Utah University student.
The 31-year-old Former Army IT specialist-come-author self-published the book, titled Forge Identity, which tells the story of a 15-year-old boy originally from Nigeria who witnesses two gruesome murders where both of the victims are burned alive. Ajayi, who himself was born in Nigeria, set up a Facebook page, a website and even listed the book for sale on Amazon, claiming on its front cover to be 'inspired from true events'. She also attacked former Vice President Joe Biden's work with Democratic segregationist senators on non-race issues, calling them 'hurtful.' Selling the shirts triggered a mixed reaction, with some accusing Harris of capitalizing on her comments.Others gave a more enthusiastic response saying they couldn't wait to buy one. 'There's been a lot of factual misrepresentations or just ignorant statements made about Homestead and frankly, the broader program that we run at HHS,' HHS Secretary Alex Azar (left) said. The Homestead facility in Florida has been the site of a stream of visiting Democrat presidential candidates this week, as well as constant protests demanding that it be shut down.
Now CBS has been allowed to film inside the facility, which houses about 2,500 migrant children who crossed the border illegally, most of them traveling unaccompanied. President Donald Trump has landed in South Korea with daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, and a meeting with North Korea's Kim Jong Un may be on his agenda. Trump flew from Osaka, Japan, where he attended The G20 and held numerous meetings with world leaders, including Russia's Vladimir Putin and China's Xi Jinping. Trump was introduced to K-pop boy band Exo and was presented with one of their signed albums shortly after his arrival. Ivanka stunned in a powder blue dress, which she paired with white stilettos. Trump's first event in Seoul is to be a dinner with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and they posed together for a picture before a dinner at the Presidential Blue House. Trump was also given an album by K-Pop sensations Exo.
Speaking at the end of the G20 summit, Trump spoke about previously offering to meet with Kim at the Demilitarized Zone and said he'd feel 'very comfortable' crossing into North Korea afterwards. Trump has said he'll visit the heavily-fortified demilitarized zone that separates North and South Korea, and he's invited Kim to join him 'just to shake his hand and say Hello!' The widow of a Salvadoran migrant who drowned along with their almost 22-month-old daughter trying to cross the Rio Grande River to the United States returned home from Mexico Friday.

The young wife and mother watched helplessly Sunday as currents swept away her husband, Oscar Martinez, and their daughter, Angie Valeria, when the family tried to cross the river to reach Brownsville, Texas. Mrs Merkel (left, speaking with Emmanuel Macron today) said at the end of the Group of 20 summit in Japan which included a long-distance flight and gruelling negotiations with other world leaders: 'I'm convinced, just as this reaction occurred it will go away again.' The 64-year-old appeared unsteady and was seen shaking at a ceremony in Berlin on Thursday (right). The health scare came just hours before she was due to board the plane for Japan, sparking new questions about her health. A German government spokesman said Merkel would not cancel any appointments in the next two days - saying 'The chancellor is well.'
Merkel's spokesman Steffen Seibert later tweeted she was on the way to Osaka for the G20 summit, and that 'numerous bilateral talks with other leaders are planned'. When Torres and Nguyen refused to comply, they then argued with the chaperone and ultimately left the facility with the nephew. A close friend of Ms Vanner said she was 'devastated' by the break up and blamed Mr Todd's decisions on 'a very serious mid-life crisis'. The split couple first met when Lisa Vanderpump, who is only five years older than stepson Warren, introduced him to her friend Ms Venner, they then began a 'secretive' relationship.
